It is now 1970s in Kuala Lumpur. Malaysian screen icon P. Ramlee has just passed away at 44 and his art has already been declared old-fashioned. Destitute and deep in debt, small-time performer Zakaria is offered a lifeline by his loan shark, Yusef: impersonate the late Malaysian screen icon to entertain his homebound sister, who believes she lives in the 1950s. This unlikely scheme allows Zakaria to repay his debts while bringing joy to the loan shark`s sister under the guise of the beloved actor.
