Inspired by true events, Nine Emperor Gods is a family romance thriller set against Malaysia’s centuries-old Nine Emperor Gods faith. Lin Shou Yi is the son of Lin Hai, a respected temple caretaker. Shou Yi resents the faith and rejects the responsibility his father hopes he will inherit, unaware of a secret that has shaped their family for years. Zhang Xiao Ya, once believed to be blessed by the Nine Emperor Gods, is later labelled “jinxed†after a series of misfortunes. After falling victim to an emotional scam, she unexpectedly crosses paths with Shou Yi. As their relationship grows, hidden secrets from their parents’ past trigger a series of crises at the temple. Shou Yi must confront his father, his past, and the faith he rejected while protecting the person he loves from a dark force. Ultimately, Nine Emperor Gods explores love, family, faith, tradition, and the courage to accept one’s responsibility.
